Biography
Yeye Luisah Teish is an initiated elder in the Ifa/Orisha tradition of the African diaspora and the Iyanifa of Ile Orunmila Oshun (Oakland, Ca.) A globally recognized spiritual leader and leader, she offers online classes, provides spiritual guidance, designs rituals, and performs sacred storytelling. She is the author of Jambalaya: The Natural Woman's Book of Personal Charms and Practical Rituals (1985), a women's spirituality classic. Her most recent work is A Calabash of Cowries: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Times (2023). In addition to her work as an author and teacher, Yeye Teish is a member of the Mother Earth Delegation of Indigenous Nations, the International Black Women's Congress, and the Global Council for Ancestor Reverence.
